    巴克禮公園其實不只是一座得到「全球卓越建設獎」的公共建設而已，它是一座象徵著當地人們共同努力、眾志成城得以扭轉頹勢的最佳例子。它的歷史典故也正好反映在他的命名─巴克禮，一位1875年在台的荷蘭籍牧師，憑藉眾人努力以及個人信念，完成創立台灣第一所大學；創辦台灣第一份報紙…等壯舉。巴克禮公園看似公園，卻蘊含了不少感人的精神於其中，您可以到附近走走，逛逛對面的文化中心、百貨公司，享受悠閒的午後時光。

    Barclay memorial park is one of the best 10 parks in Taiwan. It was named by a Dutch priest Thomas Barclay who established the first university and first newspaper company in Taiwan. There’s a big lake on the center of the park. Many tourists will visit here or the department store nearby. Tainan Municipal Cultural Center is just opposite of it.
